Technology
Investing in advanced technology and systems to continually enhance brace design and fabrication capabilities.
Our in-house technical experts are on hand to provide support to UK Orthotists.
Providence® Braces are produced using the latest technologies and methods in the design and manufacture of each individual brace, contributing to positive outcomes and enhancing quality of life for patients.
Spinal Technology have over two decades of CAD/CAM and brace design experience. Together with the use of CNC carving machines, this guarantees the best custom fit for your patient.
There is a continued commitment to invest in advanced technology and systems to continually enhance brace design and fabrication capabilities.
Brace Measurement
To achieve the precise measurements needed for the manufacture of each custom Providence® Brace, a system of a board and pads has been developed to chart the placement of corrective and de-rotational forces necessary to achieve optimal correction – The Providence® Board.
The Providence® Board is an acrylic board with holes numbered in columns and rows. The grid pattern allows both corrective and stabilising pad placement against the patient. Pad placement is determined by the scoliosis curve type.
The patient lies on the board, with their spine over the centre line and waist at row zero. Based on scoliosis curve type as defined by patient x-ray evaluation, stabilising and corrective pads are positioned against the patient. These corrective pads are adjusted to produce controlled, direct, lateral and de-rotational force to move the apices of Scoliosis curves to the midline or beyond midline.
